• InstantChess. No program to download. Free only for random opponents. Game record in pgn format.
• ChessManiac. No program to download. Free. Typically one or more days per move.
• GameKnot. No program to download. Free. Typically one or more days per move. Fast games can not be recorded.
• ItsYourTurn. No program to download. Free. Typically one or more days per move.

Conclusion: For me Yahoo Chess is the best place to play. No program to download. Free. Games can be recorded. Times can be set as you please. You can invite players and watch games. Number two is playchess.com. Number three Instantchess.
