  1. Harsha says:

Q 2. Right click on the date, select “Number format” and go to date, and select the 17th last format. This does not work perfectly because it still is not the perfect format, because no other types of formats were available, like your query.

    3. Sorry, the question was misred, to remove the name of the range, first select the range, go to insert, then go to “Names” then “Define”, then click on the name and click delete.

  3. Harsha says:

Oh, I tried the date and it worked for me.

  4. Harsha says:

Question 1: Go to Insert tab and click “Special Character…” and choose whatever key you want.

Question 2: This data has to be formatted properly so that the computer can identify the date and know what you want. You can right click on the cell (if it is in calc) and click “Format cells…” and in “Numbers” and click date, and then select whatever format you want.

Question 3: The only way I found is by by “Backspacing” it.

Question 4: It still does show the name of the month.

      Harsha,

      1. I agree.
      2. The question was about Writer, not Calc. Try it in Writer.
      3. Where do you use Backspace? I tried to Backspace the range name, but that didn’t work.
      4. When I type the date 12/15/2009 and choose Format – Cells – Date – 31 December 1999, it stays unchanged as 12/15/2009 instead of showing 15 December 1999.
