Google, the most popular search engine by far, is excellent and I use it a lot.
However, there are many specialised engines that find stuff Google don’t, and there are engines that display the findings in other ways than Google.
At the moment, June 2009, two talking points are the new engine from Microsoft called Bing, and Wolfram|Alpha which actually is not a search engine, but a calculator of some sort. “Enter your question or calculation, and Wolfram|Alpha uses its built-in algorithms and a growing collection of data to compute the answer.”
